Fall Protection Systems
Engineered lifelines, anchors and guardrails designed, installed and certified as one system.

What fall protection systems cover
A fall protection system is engineered equipment working together: horizontal or vertical lifelines, anchor points, connecting devices and guardrails, sized to the structure and to the people who will use it every day. Design, supply, installation and certification sit in one scope, so responsibility for the system does not change hands.
Red Ocean is an authorised MSA Safety partner in the Kingdom, so components come with manufacturer documentation behind them. The service runs beside height safety works, which covers the survey, access routes and rescue planning around the equipment.
The system starts from the work: a crew crossing the roof once a month needs different equipment than a team glazing a facade every day. Horizontal lifelines suit long routes across a roof, vertical lines suit ladders and towers, and single anchors cover the isolated task where a line would be in the way. The layout drawing shows every point, the load it is tested to and the route the user takes, so drawing and roof describe the same system.
Designed for the roof and the users
Design starts with the structure and the standard: what the anchors bolt into, how many people attach at once, and the loads a fall puts on the roof. Spacing, intermediate supports and energy absorbers are set to EN 795, OSHA or client site rules as specified.
Bases are detailed to the actual roof — standing seam, metal panel, membrane or concrete — so the waterproofing is preserved rather than compromised. Transfasteners and similar travel hardware let users move along the line without disconnecting, which is what makes a lifeline usable in practice.
Loads are calculated from the structure and the standard together: what the anchor bolts into, how many people attach at once, and the fall forces the absorber has to spread across the roof. Where the deck is light, intermediate supports and load-spreading bases are added rather than trusting a single fixing; where proof loading is specified, each point is loaded to the required value and the result recorded against its tag number.
Installed, tested, documented
Trained crews install the system to the approved layout, then it is proof-loaded where the specification calls for it and every component is tagged. Handover includes the layout drawing, component certificates, test records and an inspection schedule with the recertification interval in writing.
Your permit system gets a register of anchor identifiers and locations. We return before the interval lapses to inspect, re-test where required and re-tag — coordinated with height safety works inspections so one visit covers the whole system.
Installation is coordinated with whoever else holds the roof: sheeting repairs, HVAC maintenance and cleaning contracts touch the same surface, so the layout is agreed before other trades start and anything they might disturb is flagged. Components are torqued to the manufacturer's figures with calibrated tools, and a photographic record of each anchor base is kept — it settles later questions about what sits under the sealant.
Certify before the next shutdown
Certification is easiest while the roof is clear and the plant is running normally — not during a booked outage. We survey what is already installed, replace components that no longer pass, and close the gaps your risk assessment shows.
Where maintenance will use the roof after handover, pair the system with user training and rescue drills. Send a roof plan and we will come back with a layout and a price.
