CASE STUDY

1.9 km of yard roads resurfaced in eight weeks, all gate lanes open every morning.

The challenge

Wheel-tracking had rutted the main haul routes of a busy Jeddah distribution yard, and the client could not close any gate lane — 400 trucks a day entered across three gates. Millings and new asphalt had to be laid in slices that left a live lane at every gate by 06:00.

Our approach

The work was cut into eleven night slices, each milled, paved and compacted between 21:00 and 05:30 with tie-in mats at both ends so trucks could cross at dawn. Kerb and gully adjustments were done in the same night closure, joints were cut and sealed before opening, and a rolling coordinator held a 05:00 call with the yard controller to confirm each slice’s readiness.

The result

Eight weeks, 1.9 km resurfaced with zero morning lane closures, zero delivery delays logged, zero lost-time injuries across 9,300 safe man-hours — and ride quality measured better than the original build on the first re-survey.
