42,000 m³ of earthworks and the full estate infrastructure completed in 14 weeks.
The challenge
A coastal estate near Jazan port sat on a high water table with soft fill down to 3 m. Excavation for services kept taking water, summer rains arrived in short violent bursts, and the developer needed infrastructure complete before a contractor started six villas and a retail row.
Our approach
We dewatered with wellpoints along the utility corridors and swapped two foundation zones to engineered fill after CBR testing showed the natural ground would not carry loads. Earthworks ran 42,000 m³ with geotextile separation layers, storm drainage was laid first and to falls that account for Jazan’s rain intensity, and 1.1 km of estate roads followed with kerbs and full-depth shoulders. Rain days were absorbed by pulling forward drainage work in the dry corridors.
The result
Fourteen weeks: infrastructure handed over ready for building starts, all compaction and CBR tests passed, zero lost-time injuries across 19,400 safe man-hours at a peak crew of 28, and no rework was required on any settlement-sensitive service trench.
