CASE STUDY

5,600 m² transit warehouse roof and envelope weathertight in 10 weeks for a customs deadline.

The challenge

A 5,600 m² transit warehouse inside Jeddah Islamic Port had to be weathertight before a customs fit-out date. All crews and materials needed port security passes, sea-breeze gusts capped crane-assisted sheet lifting, and the bond-store section could not be exposed for more than four hours at a time.

Our approach

We pre-staged materials in the bonded yard to clear security once, split the roof into eight lifts capped at the gust allowance, and worked the bond store in four-hour windows with a rapid temporary seal on every break. Flashings, ridge closures and parapet returns used marine-grade fixings throughout, and gutters were sized for port-yard volumes with overflow outlets added as belt-and-braces.

The result

Ten weeks from mobilisation to weathertight sign-off: 5,600 m² sheeted and fully flashed, the customs date met with two days in hand, zero lost-time injuries across 11,900 safe man-hours despite the gust restrictions.
