Steel Fabrication

Structural members cut, fitted and welded in our Madinah workshop to approved drawings — certified and delivered ready to erect.

What steel fabrication includes

Steel fabrication turns mill products into members that fit. Beams, channels and plate are cut to length or profile, bolt holes are drilled or punched, parts are fitted up on the jig and welded by qualified welders, then ground, cleaned and primed to the specified coating system. Every step follows approved shop drawings — not sketches pulled together on site.

Our Madinah workshop handles the structural shapes industrial projects actually use: wide-flange beams and columns, channels, angles, plate girders, base plates and connection assemblies. Where the specification calls for non-destructive testing or third-party inspection, that is scheduled into the job rather than arranged at the last minute.

Shop drawings are prepared from the structural model and checked for clashes before any cutting starts, and revision control keeps the shop floor on the latest approved revision. Cutting is done by band saw, plasma or gas depending on profile and thickness, with the method chosen so the heat-affected zone stays away from fit surfaces. Holes are match-drilled where the fit-up depends on them, and temporary assembly happens on a level jig so parts go together the same way every time.

Fabrication matched to the erection sequence

A beam is only useful if it arrives when the crew can lift it. We plan the cutting list and weld sequence around your erection programme: members are match-marked, bundles are labelled by lift, and long elements are split at splices the erection plan can accept.

Transport dimensions are checked against route restrictions before anything leaves the yard, and every delivery note lists the marks on the truck. When our own crews install the beams, the same team that fabricated them reads those marks — which keeps fitting time down.

Coating is applied in the specified system — primer, intermediate and finish where required — with film thickness checked wet and dry and recorded against the member. Blast cleaning prepares the surface to the specified grade before the first coat, and members are handled from lifting points so the cured finish is not damaged in the yard or on the truck.

Grades, certificates and traceability

Steel arrives with mill certificates, and each heat number is recorded against the members cut from it. Grades are ordered to the drawings — commonly ASTM A992 or A572 for structural sections — and no substitution happens without written approval from your engineer.

Cutting plans are reviewed for yield before the first cut, which matters on plate work where waste compounds quickly. Remnants are logged and reused on the next job where the specification allows, keeping cost down without touching quality.

Fit-up is measured against the drawings before welding: lengths, camber, hole positions and plate alignment are checked at the jig and signed off, with any correction made before the first bead rather than after assembly. Dimensional reports travel with the shipment, so your survey crew verifies the steel instead of discovering problems after it is erected. Welding procedures are qualified for the thickness and grade in use, and welder qualifications stay current for the processes applied — copies sit in the handover pack.

From our workshop to your site

We fabricate in Madinah and deliver across the Kingdom. Scheduling is agreed with your site team before metal is cut — including laydown space, the unloading crane and any induction your project requires.

Delivery is scheduled against your programme with advance notice of each truck, and the driver knows the unloading point and the crane booked to receive the load. Where a truck arrives early, members go to the agreed laydown area marked and stacked by erection sequence — not dropped loose at the gate for the site to sort out.

Handover packs carry mill certificates, weld records, dimensional reports and NDT results where applicable. Send your drawings and we will come back with a priced proposal within 48 hours.
